Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data FFonts.net (“we”) processes when you use www.ffonts.net and its language versions (de.ffonts.net, es.ffonts.net and the other language sites), why, and what choices you have. You can browse, preview and download fonts without an account.

Data collected automatically

  • Server logs. Like every website, our servers record technical data for each request: IP address, browser and device type (user agent), the page requested, the referring page and the time. We use it to run and secure the site, find errors and stop abuse.
  • Abuse protection. We count downloads and searches per IP address and failed sign-in or verification attempts, to apply daily limits and temporary blocks against bots.
  • Country. We look up the country of your IP address in a GeoIP database stored on our own servers (it is not sent to anyone). It is used to apply regional rules, for example turning advertising and analytics off in some countries.
  • Delivery and security. The site is protected and delivered through Cloudflare, and images and style sheets are served through the Amazon CloudFront network. These providers process your IP address to deliver the pages and block attacks.

Data you give us

  • Account (optional): user name, e-mail address and password (never stored in readable form: new passwords are hashed with bcrypt, and older accounts that still use an earlier one-way hash are upgraded automatically the next time you sign in), plus the IP address and date of registration.
  • Contact form: your name, e-mail address, subject and message, together with the date and your IP address. The message is sent to our mailbox and used only to answer you.
  • Font submissions: the file you upload and its description, linked to your account.
  • Ratings: your rating is stored with your IP address to prevent duplicate votes.

Cookies

  • Strictly necessary: a session cookie (forms, security tokens and sign-in), the sign-in cookies set only when you log in (they keep you signed in for up to 30 days), a load-balancer cookie that keeps you on the same server, and security cookies that Cloudflare may set.
  • Preferences: a cookie that remembers which advertising provider serves your pages (30 days).
  • Analytics and advertising: cookies and similar identifiers set by the third parties described below, where the law requires only after you consent.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop sign-in and forms from working.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (Google LLC) to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising

FFonts.net is free because it shows ads. Ads are currently delivered through the header-bidding service of Vertex Media Cloud, in which several advertising partners (for example Google and other ad exchanges) bid to show an ad; Freestar and Google AdSense have also served ads on this site, and some pages include a video ad player. These partners may use cookies, device identifiers and your IP address to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure them, prevent ad fraud and, where you allow it, personalise them.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and other regions where consent is required see a consent message on their first visit and can accept or refuse the use of their data for advertising. To change your choice later, clear this site’s cookies and site data in your browser and the message will be shown again. You can also manage personalised Google ads at Google Ad Settings and opt out of many ad companies at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu. Freestar’s own policy is at freestar.com/privacy-policy.

Other services loaded by our pages

  • Google Fonts, for the typeface of the site interface.
  • Google reCAPTCHA, on the contact and registration forms, to block spam bots.

Sharing and selling

We do not sell your personal data. It is shared only with the service providers and advertising partners described above, or when the law requires it.

How long we keep data

We keep personal data only as long as it is needed for the purposes above: account data until you ask us to delete the account, contact messages as long as needed to handle your request, and technical data for the limited time needed for security and troubleshooting.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it (including deleting your account), and object to its use. Send your request through the contact form. If you live in the EU or the UK you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Children

FFonts.net is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
